Mission Statement

Flat Iron Supports, LLC follows ODP's mission to support Individuals with Intellectual disabilities to achieve greater independence, choice, and opportunity in their everyday lives.

Who We Are:

Matt and Sean Charlton served as Special Olympic coaches for over seventeen years. In the beginning they became involved in coaching to better support Danny. Matt's son and Sean's brother.  Ultimately, Power Lifting kick started the idea behind Flat Iron. They recognized the positive impact the sport had on each athletes self-confidence, strength, and the pride they felt. Participating in Power Lifting offered an opportunity for these individuals to accomplish personal goals they set for themselves resulting in higher self-esteem.  After researching, they saw the need for a program geared toward helping the athletes maintain their strength.  In 2007 father and son founded Flat Iron Supports, a fitness oriented program for individuals with intellectual disabilities. We have incorporated all aspects of healthy living  into our  program. We understand the importance of confidence and the role it plays in our everyday lives. We place great emphasis on being active, socializing, and being independent. Flat Iron provides the tools necessary for every person to obtain and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
